A PRESTIGIOUS, LEADERS' PATH ROYAL SCHOOL HOSTED PARENT'S CONFERENCE

A foremost educational institution with a great track record of excellence, known extensively in the Otemuyi area of Okearo in Ifo Local Government of Ogun state, hosted its annual parent conference on 18th of November,2023. 



The events were put together to have a discussion and cement a relationship between the school and the parents, the colourful events took place at the school premises, inside the school's multi-purpose hall. 



The discussions were centred around, student productivity, parents/teachers' relationships, and how parents can sustain their business, maintain discipline, as well as build a good home for the benefit of the pupils, 



Highlights of discussions are; 


How to maintain good health,


How to grow businesses.


Causes and effects of cultism on Nigerian students.


The award-winning school, which is known for its yearly shunning of students with good academic brilliance, invited scholars, old students of the school, who are old students of the school, as well as professionals in several fields to give lectures and motivational advice. 


The proprietor of the school, Mr Gbenga  Ayodele, welcomed all invitees, he explained in detail the reasons for the gathering, took time to appraise the performance of the school so far and sought collaborative support in building the school's moral and academic standards beyond the stipulated requirement of parents and government. 




       The attendance was drawn from several sectors of the economy and academics 


 The Guest Speaker are  as follows:


1) Engineer Jimoh Ojo Oladele

Graduated from Federal University Technology Minn(FUT), Surveying and Geoformatics, Maths and  Physics.


2) Mr A.O Godwin

SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, GRE and GMAT International, English Language, Exams Tutor/Instructor.



3) Mr Ojo Ebenezer

C.E.O Pelot Consulting.



4) Pharmacist Bamgbose Foluke Olaide

Superintendent Pharmacist of KOTZ pharmacy.


5) Miss Zainab Olabisi who has a 

Bachelor in Nursing Science (BNSC), a Registered Nurse/Midwife, Registered Public Health Nurse, and Former student of the school. 


   Present at the conference are also Leaders Path Royal School Management staff, Old students and friends of the school.

The speakers took turns talking about the effect of cultism on Nigerian students, the prevention, parental roles and the effect of parents' and teachers' negligence on the student,  they spoke about  the consequences of cultism which has seriously eroded educational institutions,

Loss of lives and properties and 

Break down of law and orders, the speaker canvassed for collective support for the children from their early stages to the University level, he called for enlightenment from the government, because some children fell into cultism because of ignorance, he cited several instances to buttress his discussion. 





Mr A.O. Godwin spoke extensively on the role of parents in school development, he proceeds with a diverse point that, parents need to look into.

 Parents need to consistently check their children's bags after school, and become good companions to their children, he emphasised that parents must cross-check their children's class work and report to the school authority if the student is behind.  appreciation is one of the key roles of the task the parents must imbibe and it will go a long way to encourage students and class teachers. 

Teachers must be appreciated, he concluded. 


Part of the highlight of the day was a  drama displayed by the school drama group, as well as a  choreography displayed by the students to the excitement of the guests.



 After the drama interlude, Mr Ojo Ebenezer one of the key speakers delivered a lecture on how to grow a business, Mr Ojo a former staff of the school gave a robust discussion centred on.


- Mindset of growth.


- how to Hire the right people, inspire and how to motivate them


- How to Know your customers and satisfy them


- Have positive attitudes and values 


- Set targets for both revenue and cost


- Be visible and sell among others 



 Pharmacists Bamgbose and Miss Zainab gave a speech on health and emphasised the need to always stay healthy, miss Zainab explained hygiene as very important and also mentioned immunization as a means to reduce diseases. She explained further that, parents must take immunization of their children seriously. 


A dancing and cat walking competition was organised among the parents, which made the conference more unique and colourful.


The first and second position goes home with a tangible gift.


Parents advertised their different businesses in line with the school's vision to network with themselves.


The game of luck was orchestrated by the Proprietor to add fun to the events and was played by the parents and they went home with a gift of different kinds.  



Mr  Gbenga Ayodele the  Proprietor of the school thanked all the participants, he explained that the major reason the conference was held, was to put all the school parents together and give them an eye opener of what they needed to know economically, health-wise, and intelligent reasoning before their children get to higher institutions, as well as encourage a cordial relationship between them and Teachers.


 He vowed to continue the conference annually. 


Mr Ayodele Gbenga showed his excitement and thanked donors, friends of the school and the teachers of the school, who are pillars behind the success of the school. 


He praised his wife, Mrs Ruth Ayodele for her support and encouragement.
