Court Strikes Out Fraud Case Against Osun Dep Chief Of Staff

An Abuja High Court sitting in Maitama has struck out a case of fraud allegation against the Osun State Deputy Chief of Staff, Prince Abdullah Adeyanju Binuyo.

On Wednesday, 30 September, 2020, Hon Justice O. O. Goodluck of the High Court 4, Maitama struck out the case at the instance of the Prosecuting Counsel, Rumamsonte Ezekiel, Esq.

Counsels for the defendants: Wahab Ismail, Esq; and Wasiu Omotosho, Esq; were present while Samuel Ogala, Esq, watched brief for the complainant.

At the court on Wednesday, Police prosecutor apologised saying he was misinformed about the case.

Earlier, Wahab Ismail, Esq, counsel to Binuyo, has exonerated his client from the malicious allegation.

In a press statement issued by him, Ismail stated that Binuyo was only a mere witness to the deal and not a party to it.

According to him, the amount involved in the deal was $100,000, not $120, 000 as claimed in the report.

The lawyer stated that the $100,000 has been refunded in full to the party concerned and collected by the said Tunde Ajala in the presence of the police a year ago and duly acknowledged by his counsel.

The statement stated further that Binuyo cannot be held liable to a matter he was not involved in, which was confirmed by the police charge sheet.
