The representative of the good people of Alimosho constituency’01 in the Lagos state house of assembly, Hon. Prince Adebisi Yusuff has assured his constituents of more developments into the constituency.
He made this known during the yearly stakeholders’ meeting of the Lagos state house of assembly- themed: Post COVID-19 pandemic: The challenges and prospects.
In his statement “ This pandemic has introduced the new normal into our daily lives and which we must all adhere to. However, upon the pains this has brought upon us, the governor is not relenting, and the Lagos state house of assembly in ensuring dividends of democracy and developmental projects are provided.”
He said “ There is no gainsaying the fact that Nigeria and Lagos state in particular is currently facing three shocks of the pandemic: dwindling oil tax revenue, contraction in global trade and economic recession. These realities coupled with the recent youth unrest are negatively impacting on the economy of the state, hence, the need to rethink our revenue generation model as a top priority in order to keep the economy of the state afloat. Thus, in tackling in tackling the socio - economic challenges posed by the pandemic ,individuals are encouraged to look into the effective management of the various post - pandemic opportunities such as business creation by exploring e- commerce, adapting to the new ICT potentials, acquiring relevant skills or education, while government must also invest more in e- governance to facilitate a more and robust governance, he said.
Meanwhile, it will be recalled, the gas incident that happened in baruwa few weeks back which claimed many lives and properties.
“There are treats to my live and that would not deterred me until justice is served to those who lost their love ones and properties.”
The stakeholders’ meeting affords the people to ask questions, probe governance procedures and the seriousness of the government in delivering promised plans.
