The president and founder of Adekunle Adegunle global Foundation, Barrister Adekunle Adegunle has commiserated with Lagos state government and the family of former lagos State governor , Alhaji lateef Jakande over his death on the early hours of thursday.
In his message,the NGO boss said " The death of former governor of Lagos state is a huge loss to everyone and the humanitarian service community. Baba in his life time was a great philanthropist who always have the interest of his people at heart. He made huge impacts in lagos state and on millions of people."
" His life and times are worthy of emulation to everyone especially those in the public service. Giving the best to society and humanity should always be our goals other than pursuing personal benefits at the detriment of others"
"May God be with the family and comfort them", he said.
Lateef Kayode Jakande was born in the Epetedo area of Lagos sland, Lagos State on 29 July 1929. Both parents are from Omu-Aran, Kwara State.
He studied at the Lagos public school at Enu-Owa, Lagos Island, then at Bunham Memorial Methodist School, Port Harcourt (1934–43).
He studied briefly at King's College, Lagos in 1943, and then enrolled at Ilesha Grammar School in 1945, where he edited a literary paper called The Quarterly Mirror.
