Agege 2021: I’m Still 100% In The Race, Says Gidado As He Denies Step Down Rumour

An All Progressives Congress aspirant and frontrunner in the race to occupy the Agege local government chairmanship seat in the forthcoming council elections in the state, Bukola Nurudeen Sofidiya (Gidado) has vehemently denied the step down rumour making the round about him in the vicinity.


It will be recalled the Agege-born grassroot politician commenced his consultation in October 2020 for four months stretch which afforded him the opportunity to combed the nooks and crannies of Agege, meeting the people and party faithfuls and thereby gathered informations on how best to govern them.


When quizzed by AlimoshoTv via WhatsApp messenger on why he is yet to revalidates his membership of the APC vis-a-vis the news making the rounds that he has stepped down from the chairmanship contest, he replied he’s in d race to win.


According to him," My traveling to the United States was pre-planned a situation which even made me rescheduled my flights on two occasions. These was as a results of the shift in the dates of the party's registration and revalidation exercise by the party leadership."


“My traveling was hinged on two reasons, first, to see my family who I have been away from for over four months and to meet with the NGO my campaign organization is in talks with in fulfilling my ongoing campaign plans on health related issues for both the young and elderlies in Agege. 


“I kept abreast of time with the goings-on in Agege as regards the registration and revalidation exercise and I will be getting mine done before it rounds up. I’m  reassuring my supporters that I am still very much in the race to win. They should ignore the rumors of my stepping down. I’m running to change the status quo and rewrite the narratives of governance in our dear local government. 



Speaking further,”I'm back in the country today the 18th of  February, from the United States where I had been for about two weeks. To God be the glory, I am live and direct in Agege to continue with my consultation."


“My plans for the people of Agege is the most people-oriented hence the massive supports I have been enjoying from all and sundry. It is a promise,  I won't let them down when elected into office”, he averred.



Bukola Nurudeen Sofidiay, a seasoned Health Information Technology Consultant, bagged both his MBA in Project Management and MSc in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University in Alabama.  


Prior to that, he was at the prestigious Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi where he obtained a BSc in Health Science.
