The Lagos State Police Command has demonstrated full readiness to emplace water tight security across Lagos for a safe, secure Yuletide and passage into the coming year, 2024.
Acting in line with the directive of Lagos state acting commissioner of police, DC Waheed Ayilara, Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi, today, kick-started a statewide show of force exercise, geared towards reassuring Lagosians of police full preparedness to edge out all manner of criminal activities and to ensure residents are fully safeguarded as the year 2023, nears it end.
Leading his men out for today's exercise, CSP Egbeyemi, reminded the RRS operatives of the impressive level of security wellness in the state and the need to sustain and raise the bar as the year 2023, winds down to the end.
The exercise which was monitored by this medium set out from Alausa and navigated to Ojota, Agege, Oshodi, Mushin, Surulere, Orile-Ijora corridor, Apongbon, CMS, Marina, VI-Lekki axis and inward Ikorodu and environ.
The RRS Commander, led a mix of motorcade and physical walk patrols, during which he was able to visit and engage with some Community, Artisans and tradesmen stakeholders, as a way to reinforce community policing strategy of the police, while also delivering the Lagos State police command's riot act message to persons on the wrong side of the laws of the land.
Today's show of force exercise by the Rapid Response Squad as monitored by this medium, is sure to boost Lagos residents confidence and most importantly send out strong warning signals to anyone with criminal intent to have a rethink as acting contrary to the dictates of the law is sure to be met with full measure of the punitive laws applicable.
