AGEGE MOLEBI UNITED FORUM HOLDS NEW YEAR FUNTIME: SET OUT 2024 SOCIAL CONTRIBUTION AGENDA

Lagos based, Non Governmental Organization, Agege Molebi United Forum,  on Saturday, 17th February, held its 2024 fun time-out for members and some invited guests, to refresh and set out 2024 social intervention goals for the forum.


The event, tagged Agege Molebi United Forum's New Year and Valentine Corporate Party, is the first of its kind for the decade old forum, which is fast becoming a household name identified with an uncommon drive and propensity for social contribution services in the area of education, campaign against cultism, election violence and humanitarian support to indigent Agegerians within and beyond the Agege metropoli.



Declared open with a prayer administered by a pioneer member, Comrade Olatunde Owoeye Wise, another dedicated member and MC of the day, Onilude Ekundayo, immediately reeled out the program of the event which included individual introduction of members, history of the forum, its achievements and the journey so far, inauguration of new members, pledges and social contribution projections for the year 2024, amongst others.


An illustrious son of Isale Oja, Gwagulori area of Agege and Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi, a proud Agege Molebi United Forum member, was invited to give a brief tale of the ten years old forum and he started by chanting the unique slogan of the forum, which is, Agege Molebi United Forum, while, the ecstatic members chorused back with, Our Bond for Life.


He went down memory lane, stating that, the forum was formally inaugurated in the year 2014 at the famous Agege Maternity Events Hall.


 Continuing he said, the dream was and still remains, correcting false and unsubstantiated misgivings about Agege and where needed, rewrite the narratives on Agege, their hood and pride of place.


The RRS Commander, added that, a lot of people misconstrued or labeled Agegerians as no do wells and see the community as volatile, prone to unrest and brigandage; however, he said, the journey and success story of Agege Sons and Daughters at home and in the diaspora and the positive strides of Agege Molebi United Forum as of today, have largely negated the misrepresentation of the past about Agege, he asserted.


Worthy of mention is the statement, the Senior Police Officer credited to another illustrious Agege son and proud Molebi Agege member, the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, RT. Honorable Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, who it was said, described the Agege Molebi United Forum as the most reliable and viable social contribution NGO in Agege metropoli, no wonder, the distinguished legislator has since its inception continued to support and identify with the forum unwaveringly.


Concluding, farin Zaki, as the RRS Commander is fondly called by the Arewa Community in Lagos State, specially recognised and thanked other Agege prominent figures and ambassadors including,AIG Babatunde Kokumo (Rtd) honrables Wale Ahmed (MHR), current representative of Agege federal constituency at the house of representatives, Dr  Babatunde Adejare (MHR), former member representing Agege federal constituency at the house of reps, Dr Afolabi Tajudeen Abiodun, Jubril Adedeji Abdukareem, (Member Agege 02 LAHA) Yinka Ogundimu (Former member Agege 02 LAHA), executive chairmen of Agege local government and Orile-Agege LCDA, Chief AbdulGaniyu Kola Egunjobi,  and Pastor Babatunde Johnson and the generality of Agege Molebi United Forum members for their immeasurable support and commitments which has sustained the foundational dream and vision of the forum to uncommon success in the history of Agege; he also made a special mention for the planning committee of the event which was a massive success.


Next, it was the turn of an illustrious daughter of Agege and proud pillar of the forum, Amazon Omolara Fajimi, who gave a summary account of past social contribution exercises embarked upon by the forum, which included the visitations and sharing of writing materials, school sandals and uniforms to indigent pupils across public primary schools in the Agege metropoli, campaigns against social vices, electoral violence and the humanitarian visits to Nigeria Correctional Services (NCoS), to identify with and support Agege born inmates who were behind bars for fouling the law.


Amazon Omolara went further to reel out the Forum's  2024 proposed social intervention programs which include, completing primary school visitations and the kick-starting of public secondary schools exercise as well as a return to the penitentiary with increased support for Agegerians going forward.


The Amazon rounded off with a formal call on members, guests and dignitaries alike to register their pledges for 2024 proposed social contributions plans; over two million naira pledges were recorded and redeemed at the event with numerous others expected in the course of the first quarter of 2024 in support of the less privileged Agegerians as proposed.


A new member, Janjantic Bature, was routinely inaugurated in the course of the program and again, Amazon Omolara led the inauguration committee which includes, CSP Egbeyemi, Educationist and  OAU Lecturer, Wosilat Omobolaji, Comrades Nureini Don Alpacino, Funmi Bakare Johnson amongst others to formally consummate Janja Bature's membership of the forum.


Special merit awards were also handed to some of the outstanding members of the forum amongst whom were, the chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission (LASAHCOM, Chief Richard Akin Oshungboye and  Professor in view, Wosilat Omobolaji, a lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ife, for their commendable support and commitments to the course of the Agege Molebi United Forum.


Sumptuous meals and delicacies and a mix of old school and new generation genres of music were sufficiently served to complete the beautiful and epoch making event which will go down in history as one of the good reference points of Agege as championed by the Agege Molebis.


The atmosphere at the event was all glow as Molebis danced and celebrated the double header tagged, 2024 Agege Molebi United Forum New Year and Valentine Corporate Party
