Unveiling the bouquet of empowerment packages at the now popular APC Arewa House, along capitol road, in Agege, Lagos State, the immediate past commissioner of Waterfront Infrastructure Development in Lagos State, who doubles as the chairman of LASACOM, stated that, the exercise was a deliberate human capital development investment, geared towards making members of the body across the State become micro business owners and to secure decent livelihoods for them.

Continuing, honorable Kabiru noted that, the move was first in a marathon scheme set to be fully deployed in the coming days and weeks ahead.

Beneficiaries of the economic empowerment as witnessed by this medium, include, hundred persons who received credit alert of hundred thousand naira each; two hundred other persons received fifty thousand naira credit alert each, while, one thousand others received credit alerts of twenty thousand naira each.

Palpable enthusiasm and conspicuous relief was easily observed on arrival at the venue and some of the beneficiaries interviewed described the empowerment exercise as timely and unrivalled.

The women leader in Alimosho local government, the biggest local government in Lagos State, Fatimah Hussain, in an on the spot interview couldn't hold her emotion as she solemnly averred that, her Petty trading has just been miraculously re-invented with the fifty thousand naira cash architect Ahmed Kabiru Abdullahi gifted her here; she added that, she had earlier lost the business due to paucity of funds which was aggravated by the current economic regeneration in the country.

LASACOM members who were selected for the first batch of the empowerment from across the length and breadth of the state, received their respective credit alerts before duspassing and plans are already in top gear in preparation for a soon to be convened second batch as authoritatively confirmed in the closing remarks of the LASACOM chairman, Hon.
