WAFA League: SGH Sports Amazons' Kolapo Aminat Tops Goals Scorer Chat



• The Amazons  remain unbeaten as league first round concluded.



The SGH sports Academy Amazons started well in the ongoing WAFA League 2023/2024 season, the competition which Kick - started on the 9th of  February  is organised to promote the grassroots women’s football in Nigeria.


Kolapo Aminat of SGH sports Amazons won the highest goal scorer honor at the first round of the competition with total number of five goals. The energetic striker in her words to our correspondent " It is indeed a thing of joy recording winnings for your Academy and more joyful you are actively involved in getting it done. It is indeed a collective thing not being the best amongst the rest," she said.



WAFA league is  designed such that, the table toppers in each group will play a playoffs to determine the eventual winner of the league.

The SGH Sports Amazons performance highlights so far in the 2023/2024 WAFA league;

In an away game with Future Stars '99, SGH Sports Amazons  won with a 1 - 0 victory  with the  goal from Lawal Funmilola at  65minutes of the game .

The Youthful  Talent '99 also played host to  SGH Sports Amazons with a lone goal scored by Kolapo Aminat of the SGH.

Further, the home game by the  SGH Sports Amazons gave her a  4 - 1 win over Gettor Tigers as   Odeshola Ayisat  scored the first  goal at 30 minutes of the game, Adebisi Rodiat 45 minutes , Kolapo Aminat scored the third goal at 50 minutes and Mosaku Wasilat 75 minutes goal.

The away game with  Honour Lady also recorded  a landslide victory for the Amazons with four nil in favour of the visitor, kolapo Aminat netted 3 goals with Adeyemo  Adejoke's opening goal.

SGH Sports Amazons also trounced the lakeside a 2- 0 victory with Busari Rodiat's goal at  25 minutes into the game  and Adebisi Rodiat final  goal at 65minutes.

The SGH Sports Amazons's team had other honours to its feather such as Lawal Funmilola as the woman of the match in their first encounter in the league as Chinere Okoro also won the woman of the match in the second game played. While the third week and fourth week of the competition saw Adebisi Rodiat and Kolapo Aminat as the women of the matches respectively. And Nwairo favour of SGH sports won the goalkeeper of the week while Omolade Oluwafemi won the coach of the week.
